A Time Capsule for Quilters

My friend and fellow quilter, Sharon, recently put a post on her blog about some renovations she is doing to her house. She also decided to put a "time capsule" in the wall. Here is a picture of some of things she included. Notice the fat quarter, quilt block and thread. What a great idea!

Artists' Studio Tour: Art in the City

On Saturday and Sunday I will be one of the artists in the "Art in the City Brockville" artists' studio tour. My quilts have taken over my sun room and family room!

Oakdale Fabric by Mark Lipinski for Northcott

I have just started designing a table set pattern (placemats, table runner etc) using the new Oakdale fabric line by Mark Lipinski. What a great fabric to work with! The contemporary colours and designs are just what I need for this project.

Here are a couple of pictures of the placemats that will be part of this new pattern. The rick rack was fun to play with too!

You can tell that a couple of my fellow Canadian patterns designers are enjoying this fabric too. Check out Janet's blog and Daphne's blog. Not only do we enjoy working with the wonderful folks at Northcott, we now have Mark's great fabric designs as well!

More New Fabric

I have also just received this fabric from P & B Textiles. It is the new fabric line called "Always and Forever" by Alex Anderson. It is so hard to find red and white fabric for Redwork designs. I was really happy to find this new line being introduced at Quilt Market in Pittsburgh. It also comes in black and white which continues to be a popular colour choice for many of the new quilts being made. Thanks Alex!

New Fabric!

I have just received this bundle of new fabric from Northcott. It is the new Mark Lipinski line called Oakdale. I love the stripes! I think they will make wonderful borders. A new project is in the works! Check back soon to see the progress.

I use a lot of these printable fabric sheets in my work for both pictures and text and have never had a problem with them - but you never know!

The Quilt Saskatchewan show in Saskatoon was a wonderful event! The organizers, (especially Diane who was the Merchant Mall co-ordinator), did a superb job. Congratulations to all of the organizing committee!
