New Quilt Pattern #3

Here is my "Melbourne Medallions" table set. The pattern includes instructions for a table topper, wall quilt or table topper and a bed runner. The centre medallion in each block is a pre-printed panel.

Bed runners are very popular right now. If you don't have time to make a full bed quilt, just make one of these runners and put it across the end of the bed. Looks like a quilt folded up!

The pattern is available from my web site and is in quilt shops now. The fabric is from Northcott's Stonehenge Aphrodite collection.

One More New Pattern

This pattern is called Wild Goose Chase. The fabric collection is Savile Row by Northcott and it will be available later this year. It is a great scrap quilt and would be perfect for using up your stash (or at least part of it!). The large quilt is 76" x 92" and the small one is 59" x 59". The pattern will be available on my website soon.

Here are some of the fabrics I used from the Savile Row collection.

The Sewing Gallery in Melbourne, Florida

Today I had the pleasure of meeting Mary and Lori at the Sewing Gallery in Melbourne, Florida. What a friendly, welcoming shop! I was looking for just a few fat quarters so I could test some of the blocks I will be using for my new pattern designs for Northcott. Mary and Lori were most helpful and we had many bolts of fabric all over the cutting table before I finally chose the ones I needed. Watch for a sneak preview of the new designs coming soon!

I will have 3 new pattern designs finished by the middle of February using these fabrics and will post some pictures as soon as they are ready.

Happy Hallowe'en!

Yes, I know it is early, but here is a new Hallowe'en design that will be available soon. This quilt (55" x 62") uses the Scary Night II fabric collection by Laurie Godin for Northcott. You can see all the fabrics here.

The centre is a pre-printed panel, so this quilt will be really quick to make. The crooked houses in the border are made using a flip-and-sew technique. Watch my website for more details about this new pattern.

Glimpses of Geishas: Another New Pattern

Here is another new pattern that will be available soon. The fabric is from the new Silhouettes collection by Ro Gregg for Northcott. It just happens to be in one of my favourite red and white colour combinations! The fabric is also available in black and white. The focus fabric is a large print of beautiful geishas and the accompanying fabrics are small prints - red on white and white on red. The small prints would also be wonderful for a Redwork design!

The fabric will be in quilt shops later in the spring and the patterns will be available next month. Be sure to check out my website for more details.

Another New Pattern with "Good Morning Sunshine" Fabrics

Hearts and Stars is the second pattern I will be publishing using the new Good Morning Sunshine fabrics by Mark Lipinski for Northcott. This is an intermediate level quilt. The hearts can be done with hand or machine applique. If you like hand work, the heart blocks make a great take-along project.

You can have a look at all the fabrics from the Good Morning Sunshine collection here.

Watch for more information about this new pattern on my website.

Girlfriends: Another New Pattern

Here is another new pattern that I have just put on my website. "Girlfriends" is a fun project for girlfriends of any age. I used the "Girlfriends" panel by Judy Houghton for Northcott fabrics to create this design. It is quick and easy to make and you will be able to make several wall quilts from one panel. There are 2 different designs in my pattern. They are 14.5" x 23.5" and 14.5" and 21.5".

I used the BFF (Best Friends Forever) hanger from Ackfeld for this version.

I added some simple fusible applique to this wall quilt. Full size drawings for the applique are included in the pattern.

Both little quilts have been embellished with beads, buttons and crystals. Lots of fun!

A New Pattern: Hedge Row Table Set.

I have just put this new pattern on my website. The table runner is 16" x 48" and the placemats are 12" x 16". You can add some optional rick-rack trim for a little accent. I used the "Oakdale" fabric by Mark Lipinski for Northcott. This is a Jelly Roll - friendly project or you can use up some scraps. A great gift item for someone special!
