Round Robin Row Quilt
I am one of the designers for the "Summer Picnic" row quilt project by Patchwork Posse. You can download the patterns for each row here. There is no charge for this fun project. Over the next few weeks, you will see more rows from different designers from across the country. You can make as many rows as you like for this quilt and create your own unique design.
Here is a sneak preview of my row which will be added to the quilt in the next few days.

Helena's Applique
Helena is working on this applique pattern by Canadian designer, Rosemary Makhan. Helena chose a wonderful green fabric for the leaves and she fussy-cut every leaf so the veins would be running in the right direction.
All the stitching is done by hand.

Another New Pattern
I created this little wall hanging using flannel fabrics and my new die-cut applique shapes for the flowers and leaves. What a time-saver to be able to use the die-cut shapes! I applied fusible web to the fabric before I cut the shapes and so they were all ready to fuse to my background fabric as soon as they were cut.
Watch for the pattern coming soon.

Appliqued Quilt
Several members of my guild, The Thousand Islands Quilters' Guild, hand-appliqued all the blocks for this wonderful quilt. It will be hand-quilted and then given to a local non-profit organization. The chosen group will then be able to raffle the quilt as a fund raiser for their organization. I think I will be buying lots of tickets for this one!

More Quilts for my Collection!
I am now the proud owner of the Redwork and the Applique quilts that I wrote about earlier this week. You can see pictures of these quilts, made in the 1920s, in my posts of August 15 and 16 . My husband bought them for me for an anniversary gift!

Appliqued and Embroidered Coverlet ca 1920
Today I was shown this wonderful hand-appliqued and embroidered coverlet. It is completely finished on the edges and is in excellent condition. The size is approximately 72" x 88". The owners would like to sell this coverlet but have no idea what price to put on it. I have no experience in appraising quilts, so I don't know about pricing either. Can anyone help me?Here are some more pictures of this amazing work.

Perth Antique Show
Yesterday we visited the Perth Antique show in Perth, Ontario. This picturesque community, close to Ottawa, is the location for the Annual Antique show and, as always, there were lots of quilts on display. Here are a few pictures.
